Welcome to a slow but steady attempt to re-define creative fiction and the roles women play within. I define escapist fiction as the unrealistic, adventurous media we consume to escape a mundane or painful reality: the pirates and space operas prevalent in our pop culture.
While we’re seeing a rise in female-led fiction, narratives about women, racial minorities, and LGBT characters tend toward depictions of historical or present suffering, while escapist fiction remains largely homogenous.
In addition, you will see bits and pieces of my own writing: mysteries, romances, and swashbuckling adventures all featuring the Girl-Bonds of my own creation. Expect some LGBTQ twists and a plethora of lady detectives in fedoras.
